This is really cool stuff. I haven’t been this excited about any new advancements in the Pay TV industry, since the DVR itself. This new Dish Receiver, that is already available, makes it possible to watch the programming on your DVR receiver from ANYWHERE! Literally, as long as you have an internet connection and at least a mobile phone. Here is some info from Dish’s press releases.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Nov. 18, 2010 /PRNewswire/ — DISH Network L.L.C. today became the first pay-TV provider in America to introduce a true TV Everywhere™ offering, giving DISH Network subscribers the ability to watch all of their live and recorded television programs on compatible smartphones, tablets and laptops. DISH Network subscribers can access these features when they download and use the DISH Remote Access application in concert with their broadband-connected, Sling®-enabled receiver.

“DISH Network is proud to be the first pay-TV provider to bring our customers the ability to enjoy their TV anywhere, anytime on a variety of popular devices,” said DISH Network Chief Marketing Officer Ira Bahr. “Unlike mobile viewing from cable and telcos that limit access to select programs, our TV Everywhere services give consumers 24 x 7 access to all of the live and recorded content included with their DISH Network programming subscription.”

Introducing Sling Adapter

To enjoy the live viewing capability of DISH Remote Access, consumers need to be DISH Network subscribers and have a Sling-enabled device such as the newly-released Sling Adapter™ — a small placeshifting device that pairs with DISH Network’s ViP® 722 or 722k HD DVRs. With a Sling Adapter, customers can then view their high-definition or standard-definition DISH Network programming, including live and recorded shows, on compatible mobile devices or laptops. The award-winning Sling Adapter is powered and operated through a USB connection, offering an easy, plug-and-play set-up without the need for any other wires or connectors. The Sling Adapter is available for $99 to new and current DISH Network customers.

The DISH Remote Access app is free.

Mobile Applications, Available Today

The DISH Remote Access app provides the following features:

Enjoy live TV programming from all subscribed channels,
View all DVR recordings,
Manage recordings and delete shows,
Use a mobile device as a remote control.

DISH Remote Access is powered by SlingPlayer Mobile™ technology for support of 3G and WiFi-enabled phones, laptops or tablets, including the following devices*:

iPhone® & iPod touch®: Watch your TV on your iPhone’s Retina display. You can download the app now through the iTunes Store®.
iPad™ (TV viewing coming soon on iOS 4.2): Catch your favorite TV shows, live and in HD, on the iPad’s crystal-clear 9.7 inch screen. The DISH Remote Access app is currently available through the iTunes Store and will soon be updated to provide full-screen TV viewing for the iPad.
Android™: DISH Network offers full support for the fastest-growing smartphone OS in the world. DISH Remote Access for Android devices is available for 4.3-inch display smartphones and tablets, and can be downloaded through the Android Market using your device.
Windows® & Mac® Computers: DISH Remote Access allows high-definition TV viewing on Windows and Mac systems. DISH Network subscribers can log in to DISH Remote Access at DISH Network’s website to use the service.
BlackBerry®: DISH Remote Access means your BlackBerry is no longer just for business, unless your business is watching your TV anywhere and anytime. The beta app is available for Bold (Models 9700 & 9000) and Curve (Models 8520 & 8900) through the TV Everywhere section on DISH Network’s website.

*DISH Network will continue to expand its menu of compatible devices.

Any DVR lets you watch TV in your living room, but the ViP 922 is the only DVR that lets you watch your TV everywhere. You can watch the same live channels or recorded shows you already enjoy at home – anywhere you can access the Internet on your computer’s browser or compatible mobile device.

via TV Everywhere – DISH Network.

You have a variety of ways on which people connect to the online world, but the number one way involves a Linksys wireless router. This router may be used to connect one computer, or multiple computers with the internet. Some attach it directly to their computer, while some have a wireless network card to use the internet without needing any cords or wires. In a lot of cases users chose a router to meet their needs.

Linksys certainly is the primary maker of routers used by most of the current internet providers. Both Time Warner Cable and Comcast use Linksys routers, and these are two of the biggest internet providers in the usa. Every time a customer decides to use a broadband system, to upgrade to wireless service, or decides making use of high speed cable access to the internet, the company will send an installer out to their home or business. The installer is to be in charge of connecting the router in to the existing cable lines. In the time the phone call is made towards the moment once the user can get connected to the world wide web is really as little as just a few short days.

There are numerous of internet providers that won’t utilize Linksys wireless routers, but instead pick a different manufacturer. Even Time Warner and Comcast use different makers in some other part of usa. That does not mean that users cannot take benefit from a Linksys wire less router, however they will have to purchase the Linksys wireless router by themselves. There are numerous companies and shops that sell these. They are offered in mass merchandise stores along the lines of Target and Wal-Mart. Some electronics or specialty stores just like Radio Shack, Best Buy, Circuit City and also sell them. Shoppers usually see them for sale in the stores, or some might include a mail in rebate. Other users may prefer to find a Linksys wireless router online at the store like linksyswirelessrouters.org. These stores often provide substantial discounts compared to traditional stores. An example the Linksys WRT160N which retails for $129.99 can be found online for less than $100 and often with free shipping.

Most people prefer to use a Linksys wireless router since it enables to connect several computers onto the same system. A household where one person runs a desktop computer and several people use a notebook computer especially find a Linksys wireless router helpful. They can attach the pc on to the router using wires and cables. The other computers may then link on the system using wireless network connection. Everybody in the house will use the same system without utilizing the same computer.

A Linksys wireless router is an extremely popular choice for many households. The hardware could easily be found, and easily installed onto one computer or multiple computers.Everybody in the household will have the same high speeds and wireless access, without having to be in the same room. Many users also can use the hardware at the same time, without causing any problems.
